Canada BVLOS Waiver

Feb 17 - Overhead Intelligence (OI) in partnership with GroundTruth Exploration (GT) has been approved by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in multiple areas of Newfoundland & Labrador. These areas are located in the northern region of the island of Newfoundland, making this OI’s largest single magnetometer data collection mission to date totaling well over 100 contiguous square km. This waiver is OI’s first BVLOS waiver including the proprietary terrain following technology and it marks OI’s 5th waiver approval (FAA & TCCA). OI’s team in partnership with GT, will be conducting large scale aerial magnetometer data collection missions in an extremely challenging rural environment that no other company can fulfill. OI strives to spearhead the capabilities of BVLOS technology, so UAV operators can safely and effectively fly BVLOS, no matter the terrain.
